Questions about using the BLACKCAMP mini-caravan
Is a Category B driving license sufficient to tow the mini-caravan?
Yes, with a standard mid-size car, the BLACKCAMP can be towed using a Category B driving license. This allows you to tow up to a total permissible gross weight of 3,500 kg (car + trailer). We offer our BLACKCAMP mini-caravans with various gross vehicle weights: 750 kg, 950 kg, 1,100 kg, 1,200 kg, 1,300 kg, 1,500 kg, and 1,600 kg.
Does the mini-caravan require its own insurance?
As long as the mini-caravan is hitched to your car, it is covered by your vehicle's insurance policy. However, when the mini-caravan is parked separately from the car, dedicated stationary/parking insurance is required.
What do I do with the BLACKCAMP if it rains?
Our AUTOHOME roof tents are storm-proof and waterproof and offer a comfortable place to sit or lie down. We also offer various awnings that provide sufficient dry space. These can optionally be equipped with sidewalls to create a full tent.

Can you go off-road with the BLACKCAMP?
Absolutely, yes! Our off-road mini-caravans deliver top-tier terrain performance. Choose the 14" tires, which—together with the dual-axle design—provide an excellent approach/departure angle and over 30 cm of ground clearance. BLACKCAMP mini-caravans are exceptionally well-suited for off-road adventures because they are small, compact, and highly maneuverable. Plus, their high ground clearance makes all the difference.
How quickly is the BLACKCAMP mini-caravan set up?
Experienced BLACKCAMP users need only two minutes for this! As a beginner you should reckon with 5 minutes.
Do I need a large car to tow the mini-caravan?
No, nowadays any mid-range car can tow our FREEda models, which can weigh between 750kg and 1.000kg depending on the equipment.
How many sleeping places does the BLACKCAMP offer?
Traveling with up to 5 people is no problem. The FREEda models come with roof-top tents featuring a sleeping area of 210x165 cm. Additionally, a bed can be installed inside, providing a sleeping area of 170x120 cm. The FREEda XL model, on the other hand, offers an interior bed measuring 200x120 cm. If this is not sufficient, other roof tents with sleeping areas of up to 200x220 cm can be installed.
Why did you choose two axles?
Installing dual axles on a trailer or mini-caravan offers several key advantages. Two axles ensure enhanced stability and a smoother driving experience. Another benefit is that rear support legs are not strictly necessary when the mini-caravan is parked detached from the towing vehicle.
Does the BLACKCAMP have fresh water?
Yes! Both models are equipped with a 60-liter fresh water tank and a 20-liter wastewater tank. Hot water can also be installed.

Our configurator lets you customize every detail and save your personal design and chosen options for future adjustments. - Order and deposit: As soon as you return the signed order confirmation and make a down payment, production of your personalized BLACKCAMP mini-caravan begins.
- Pickup or delivery: Pick up your BLACKCAMP directly at the factory, where we will explain all features in detail. Alternatively, we offer convenient delivery straight to your doorstep.
- Start the adventure: Hit the road with one of the most compact mini-caravans around. Your custom-built, personalized BLACKCAMP is ready—let your adventure begin!
How do I get my BLACKCAMP?
- Pickup in South Tyrol: Visit us in South Tyrol and pick up your BLACKCAMP directly from our manufacturing facility.
- Local dealership near you: Our authorized dealers across Europe are ready to prepare your BLACKCAMP for handover.
- Home delivery: Enjoy the convenience of having your BLACKCAMP delivered straight to your home address (*subject to an extra charge).
What is the delivery time for a FREEda or FREEda XL?
The delivery time is about three to five months from the order. Sometimes we also have pre-built exhibition trailers that can be delivered in a few days.
Can accessories also be retrofitted?
Yes! Many of our accessories can be installed retroactively.

How long is the warranty on the BLACKCAMP?
The BLACKCAMP comes with a 2-year warranty from the delivery date. For electronics, we offer a 1-year warranty. Consumable parts such as brakes and tires are excluded from the warranty.
Can I also rent the BLACKCAMP mini-caravan?
We currently do not offer rental services.
