Cookies
Definitions, characteristics and application of the legal provisions
Cookies are small text files that are stored on the computer, cell phone or other device that enables the website to be accessed. They are sent from the website to the browser on the user’s device and stored there so that they can be sent back to the website when the user reconnects. Cookies help to tailor the website to your needs, such as your preferred language or your areas of interest, so that you do not have to select your preferences again and again. Cookies are therefore used for the informational identification of a user, for session monitoring and for storing information regarding the activities and preferences of users who visit a website. Cookies may also contain an identification number that follows the user’s navigation and registers it for promotional or statistical purposes. While browsing a website, cookies from other websites (so-called “third-party cookies”) may also be placed on the user’s computer or cell phone. Some operations could not be carried out properly without the use of cookies, as some cookies are technically necessary for the functioning of the website. The different types of cookies are categorized according to their characteristics and functionality and are stored on the user’s computer/mobile phone for different periods of time. “Persistent cookies” are deleted after a certain period of time when you return to the website. “Session cookies” are deleted as soon as you close your browser. Under current legislation in Italy, the express consent of the user is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, this is the case of “technical cookies” (which are used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a message over an electronic communications network). These are cookies that are necessary either for the functioning of the website or for the performance of the actions you have requested. According to the provision of May 8, 2014 of the Italian Data Protection Authority, the following cookies are also considered “technical cookies”, which do not require the express consent of the user:
- so-called “analytical” cookies, which are used directly by the website operator to collect anonymous statistical information on the use of the website and to monitor its proper operation and improve the quality of service
- Navigation cookies or session cookies (used for authentication)
- Cookies that are necessary for the functionality of the website (e.g. cookies that store the language)
- The use of “profiling cookies”, on the other hand, requires the express consent of the user. These cookies are used to display advertising messages that match the user’s characteristics and interests as closely as possible. They are also used to limit the number of times an advertisement appears, to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and to identify different user profiles.
Types of cookies
This website uses the following types of cookies and gives you the option to enable/disable them. In the case of third-party cookies, you should check the activation/deactivation of cookies on the respective third-party websites.
- Technical cookies: navigation cookies or session cookies that are necessary for the proper functioning of the website or that allow visitors to use the functions of the website.

Without these cookies, it is not possible to provide the services requested by the customer.
- Third-party cookies: Third-party cookies are used to analyze traffic sources and visitor behavior and to control access and functionality of the website. Third-party cookies can also be used to profile users. The targeting or advertising cookies are very often related to the functioning of the third-party website, so you should check the respective websites for information about the third-party cookies and their privacy policies, as well as to (de)activate such cookies (in accordance with the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of May 8, 2014). Third-party providers are considered independent data controllers.

We have set up the aforementioned banner and have also provided a specific cookie that stores the settings relating to the installation of cookies for a period of 365 days. This means that the cookie will only be displayed to you once. You can change your cookie settings at any time by opening the cookie settings. There you can change your settings or revoke your consent. In addition, different browsers offer different methods for blocking and deleting cookies used by websites.
